First group of refugees arrive in Slovenia under the EU relocation plan
A group of 28 refugees from Syria and Iraq have on May 12th arrived to Slovenia as part of an EU relocation plan to deal with the migrant crisis. The group that arrived from Greece consisted mainly of families with children.
Slovenia thus continues with solidarity measures. In April Slovenia sent to Greece material aid worth 1,05 million euros via the European Union civil protection mechanism, for managing the migration situation. Within the relocation scheme Slovenia will relocate 567 refugees from Greece and Italy and 20 people from third countries through resettlement.
Slovenia will continue fulfilling its obligations and with solidarity measures and thus already started the procedures for next relocation form Greece.
